Our daughter who is 9 year old even asked us to extend an more hour while we were on the boat fishing. The captain and his wife are amazing. They welcomed us homemade Greek food and drinks. They make sure to take pictures from the moment you get on the boat and when you catch the fish. For all of us, it was our first time fishing. They explained it to us and guided us in every step. It was a nervous when we didn't catch a fish at our first stop. But they made sure to move to several different spots to catch more fish. Our daughter was feeling down because she didn't catch one while my husband and I caught couple. I forgot her name but captain's wife helped my daughter to catch one!! She was soooo happy. We caught about 20 fish at the end. Well my husband kept catching the same puffer fish over and over again so it could have been more 🤣🤣🤣 We are back home now. Not at all! Captain Manolis will guide you through everything. Whether you’ve never held a rod or you are an experienced angler, we adapt the trip to your level. We love teaching beginners and children!
Absolutely! Our boat, “CHRISTOS,” is family-friendly and safe. Fishing is a fantastic activity for kids, and we make sure they are involved in the process, from baiting the hook to catching their first fish.
Just the basics: sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and non-slip shoes (sneakers or flip-flops). We provide all the professional fishing equipment, baits, and safety gear. Don’t forget your camera!
We take Cretan hospitality seriously!
Morning Trips: Fresh coffee, homemade cake, and fruit salad.
Afternoon Trips: Traditional homemade kalitsounia or pies, and refreshing drinks.
Net Fishing Trips: We cook the fresh catch of the day right on the boat for you!
Yes! If the weather allows and you wish to cool off, we can stop at secluded, crystal-clear beaches around Kalyves that are only accessible by boat. Just let Captain Manolis know!
The waters in our area are usually calm, but if you feel unwell, Captain Manolis knows exactly what to do. We recommend a light breakfast before the trip and staying hydrated. We also have basic first aid on board.
Our base is the harbor of Kalyves in Chania. We will provide you with the exact meeting point and GPS coordinates once your booking is confirmed.
Depending on the season and method, we usually catch Pandora (Lithrini), Sea Bream (Fagri/Sargos), Parrotfish, and Red Mullets (Barbouni). Every day at sea is a different adventure!
Your safety is our top priority. If the weather conditions are unsafe for sailing (strong winds or heavy sea), Captain Manolis will decide to cancel the trip. In this case, we will try to reschedule for another day. If that is not possible, you will receive a 100% full refund. For more info check cancellation policies.
We understand that plans can change. Our policy is as follows:
Up to 48 hours before the trip: Full refund or free rescheduling.
Less than 48 hours before the trip (or no-show): No refund can be issued, as it is difficult for us to fill the spot on such short notice. For more info check cancellation policies.
